If you send a sourcing request
We receive what you type and attach: name, email, product link, files, specification, quantity, destination port, target date. It arrives as an email in our mailbox and we use it to answer you. We do not add you to a mailing list, we do not send automatic replies, and we do not sell or share it.
When you just visit
We count visits with our own small script, without cookies and without learning who you are. Each time a page loads, it reports:
- the page address, and the website you came from;
- your screen size and browser language;
- how far down the page you scrolled and how long you stayed;
- whether you pressed an email or outbound link, started the request form, or sent it. Nothing you type is sent;
- a random number kept in your browser tab until you close it, and a yes/no note on your device saying you have visited before. Neither identifies you.
From the request itself we keep a browser family (for example “Safari”), an operating system, a device type, and a country, region and city centre with coordinates rounded to about 11 km. We do not store your IP address or your browser’s full identification string, and we set no cookies. Statistics are shared with the other sites we run, in one private dashboard that only we can open.
Adding ?notelemetry=1 to the address switches counting off in that browser. We use the numbers only to see how the site is found and used, which is our legitimate interest.
Who else touches the data
- Cloudflare hosts the site and delivers form emails; it sees your IP address as any host does.
- Google: our mailbox runs on Google Workspace, and the pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google when a page opens.
